Dear Neighbor,

Many of us look back fondly on our public school experience.  We had teachers who loved their students and subjects; were proud of our nation and its founding ideals; and encouraged us to learn facts and history; to think for ourselves; to cultivate good judgment and other skills that would help the next generation thrive.

Today?

That model has become a rarity.  It is being replaced—oftentimes without your knowledge or consent—by a radical new system.  “I think I can” has become, “the system is rigged”.  Reading, writing and arithmetic has become emoting, hating and dividing (usually by race, class, gender or some other grievance).  Instead of learning that our nation was founded on the highest of ideals that have served as a beacon of hope for generations, they are taught that America is an awful, hateful irredeemable place.  Instead of learning the values of grit, hard work, merit and truth, they are encouraged to find victimhood, systems of oppression, shallow thinking, and that nothing matters but personal narrative.  It rejects common sense and critical thinking in favor of distributive outcomes and pedagogy that uses the classroom to create political activists for their worldview.  But don’t take our word for it—see what the published literature has to say about this in, for example, your child’s social studies classes. Click for an example.

All of this is said to be in the service of “equity.”  “Equity” to the educational indoctrinators does not mean justice, fairness, or even equality under the law or equal opportunity.  It is warped language that encourages giving more raw power to particular political factions who will redistribute rights and responsibilities to people as they see fit.

This is not what our educational system is supposed to be about.

As this model has gained traction in school systems, we have gone from having some of the top, most competitive students in the world, to sinking test scores on basic math and literacy metrics. This is not acceptable!  Good teachers are leaving the field because they cannot violate their conscience with this. Click to read more articles about this topic.

When you took on the job of teacher during last year’s school shutdowns, did you find yourself saying, “What are they teaching my kid?”  Did you witness some crazy curriculum requirements?  Lowering standards?  Have you been hearing about Critical Race Theory, sex education “standards” and COVID-19 mandates?  Has your child responded to an argument with “that’s racist” as if that is the end, not the beginning, of a discussion?  To handle this, do you know where to go?

We are here to help!!!

It is time for you to know EXACTLY what occurs during the school day, and who is making decisions regarding your child’s future.  Our goal is to connect you to resources and information, as well as other likeminded parents, students, and community members who want to see education, not indoctrination, in the schools that we pay for.

We hope you will read through this; and join us at future in-person or online connections.  The most important thing we hope you get from this is, you are not alone!  But we do need to work together to get our system back on track.  Our kids’ future depends on it.

Respectfully yours,

Education not Indoctrination

Looking to the future

During the COVID-19 pandemic, many parents saw for the first time what exactly was going on in their kids’ classrooms—and they were furious.
